What is Not Allowed and Allowed in the Park
No Drones Permitted at Ohio Challenge
- Smith Park, Middletown Regional Airport and surrounding areas will be a NO DRONE ZONE July 18-20, 2025. For the safety of the balloon operators, airplanes, skydivers, and spectators, the FAA has established a Temporary Flight Restriction or TFR are that will be effective for the duration of this event.
The restricted area is a 5 mile radius from the center of Smith Park.
The FAA and Law Enforcement will enforce this restriction
No Children under the age of 12 are permitted without an adult.
Prohibited
- Weapons (including knives over 4” blade length) any item that may be used as a projectile or one that is deemed dangerous by Public Safety personnel.
- Glass bottles and hard-sided coolers
- Alcohol of any kind
- Religious or political paraphernalia
- Costume face masks, or full-face masks
- City ordinance prohibits smoking in all city parks. No Smoking is allowed at Smith Park. There is no smoking allowed inside the balloon launch area.
- No pop-up tents
- No Outside Vendors allowed- Only approved Vendors
Allowed
- Backpacks/bags (1 per person) are allowed- **All bags are subject to inspection**
- Baby strollers and wagons
- Blankets and lawn (folding) chairs are permitted
- Food of any kind for guest consumption. Resale is prohibited.
- The ONLY animals allowed are ADA service animals. Note: Emotional support animals are not classified as service animals.
